David Lawson Ceramics

Having spent over 10 years in the North East as a commercial production thrower of garden pottery, David's new range of original country kitchen ceramics delivers a unique take on a rustic style. His approach continues to possess the quality of finish & attention to detail, whilst taking a great deal of pride in the functional & honest aspects of stone ware products. The aim is to create a direct marriage of good food & stylish presentation.
High fired salt glazed dishes & stone ware servers for the oven are designed to be used for slow cooking casseroles & stews, whereas the rest of the range can be put to good use in any home, from useful storage to elegant serving of piping hot meals!

In addition, a fine selection of large platters also offer the choice of a permanent table centre, which can then be used to show off your favourite foods - fruits, desserts or even homemade bread - great for all occasions.

Since graduating from the Glasgow School of Art, David has had numerous shows both in ceramics & art, & has sold work ranging from paintings & portraiture, to the emerging range of domestic & culinary ware that he is proud to present today.

During his time he worked with many established names in the field of ceramic design & pottery.  Australian aboriginal & oriental designs played an inspirational role in his early work, using combinations of ceramic & steel construction to achieve a raw design technique.

Wood firing & other raw fuel processes boosted his interest in the effect of flame & kiln atmospheres to achieve 'earthy' finishes to the pieces.

A range of beautiful crockery is available for you to choose from, whether it be as an addition to your kitchen or intended as a gift.  David Lawson Ceramics also make ideal wedding presents for the couple with everything.

Now working from Hexham, David's new premises are easy to access, being situated just off the A69, set off by the historic grounds of Bridge End House.   Visitors are welcome when the signs are up & the door is open !
